My career was inspired by designer Nolan Miller's glamorous 80's fashion and jewelry on the red carpet events and TV shows like "Dynasty" and I dreamed of sewing his designs at his Beverly Hills boutique but he was not hiring, motivating me to sell my own line to boutiques, private clients and at shows. Years after opening my jewelry store and celebrity consignments, and having some of his designs from stars like Joan Collins, I called his partner Mark Zunino for an unforgettable memory of meeting with the man who inspired my career. I walked in frozen, telling him I was not sure if I would faint or cry! He laughed and humbly said he was honored. We shared stories and took a picture which he signed and mailed to me before he sadly passed away. Mark Zunino continues his legacy with amazing designs at the same location at their fabulous boutique in Beverly Hills!
In the early 90's a realtor friend got the listing for a successful salon and suggested I buy my first business and Litalia Salon was born! I always loved jewelry, buying and selling diamonds, and with a daily flow of salon clients wanting great deals on jewelry, I added Litalia Jewelers and later moved it to a golf course as La Contenta Jewelers, followed by adding the celebrity consignments and my last store Stars Boutique. By then I was a Graduate Gemologist with GIA, with a great clientele for jewelry and a reputable source for celebrity owned treasures, with a storefront for 20 years but I had discovered Las Vegas, the most amazing little city in the world and wanted to move there so I closed down my store and worked for several upscale jewelry stores there until I got married and was forced to move to Maryland. I now operate all of my businesses on-line, through various selling sites, as well as private shows and fashion shows. The love of online shopping has definitely paved the way for a successful business!
Over the years, I added several other ventures in other areas, based on the concept of affordable products. I also realized that we all love variety so I mostly sell affordable, high end costume and silver jewelry, although I do take custom orders and sell fine jewelry and estate pieces. Many of my collections are one of a kind or vintage, along with the celebrity owned jewelry, apparel and Hollywood memorabilia. One of the most loved is my Famous Jewels Collection which is replicas of star owned and royal jewels with their history. Each piece comes with photographs and stories about the special jewel, description and photos of the famous owners of it and its history over the decades.
Another one of my other exciting businesses is an independent travel agency with an online wellness product store.
